Kelly Clarkson was an American singer/songwriter that became the sweetheart of America after she took home American Idol in the first series. It brought her to notoriety and led to an agreement with RCA Records 19 Recordings, and 'S Records. From her first appearance in the series, she has released a number of albums. From those, three reached number one on the US Billboard 200. The others were close to reaching the top position. Her name is regarded as one of the many of the most popular American Idol artists. To achieve her success she played around with various music styles and experimented on subjects. The uniqueness of her voice and singing ability earned her critical acclaim and a number of high-profile prizes. One of her most memorable achievements is that she won the Grammy Award three times. Alongside her music career, she also has worked in film and TV. She has also written her children's book River Rose and the Magical Lullaby as well as been a part of several charities.
