
Pichai Sundararajan, better known as Sundar Picha is an Indian-American business executive. He is the chief executive officer (CEO), of Alphabet Inc.'s subsidiary Google. Born in Madurai, India.[4] Pichai graduated from IIT Kharagpur with a degree in metallurgical engineer. In the United States, he attained an M.S. from Stanford University in materials science and engineering . He then earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in which he was named a Siebel Scholar and an Palmer Scholar, respectively.Pchai began his career as a materials engineer. After a brief stint working for the management consulting firm McKinsey & Co., Pichai joined Google in 2004 where he was in charge of the product management and innovations for a range of Google's client-facing software which included Google Chrome as well as ChromeOS as well as being in charge of Google Drive. He also oversees the creation of Google Maps, Gmail, as well as other applications. Pichai introduced WebM in 2010, and then announced open-sourcing of the codec for video called VP8 from Google. 2012 saw the launch of Chromebook. Pichai was the director of the rollout of Android in 2012, has added Android to his list of Google products.
